Welcome to DOC International
Written by Web Master

Doctors Outreach Care International was established in 2005 by a group of Zambian Doctors serving the public sector with a passion to promote the health of the Zambian people. It was formed to provide outreach health care to underprivileged communities across Zambia.

Zambia is amoung the countries in sub-Saharan Africa that has faced one of the greatest tragedies of the century since the colonial slave trade. It is the Brain Drain from Africa! Currently there are less than 800 doctors serving in the public sector of the entire country. This is equivalent to a physician to population ratio of 1:19,000 which is far higher than the WHO recommended standard of 1:10,000. The Zambian health sector has faced the most devastating period ever recorded. Compounding the human resource crisis is the legacy of the HIV/AIDS pandemic that will leave the country in ruin if little is done to support health sector activities. It is not only the government's responsibility but the responsibility of every individual in the country to support the public health sector for their own sakes.

Driven by a desire to alleviate the crisis DOC International was formed. DOC International invokes the support of every doctor that has trained in Zambia especially those doctors practicing outside the country to achieve our mission. The organization also recognizes that the crisis is not only at the national level but affects the entire sub region and its efforts need to magnify to the entire region.

Yesterday all servers in the U.S. went out on strike in a bid to get more RAM and better CPUs. A spokes person said that the need for better RAM was due to some fool increasing the front-side bus speed. In future, busses will be told to slow down in residential motherboards.
